Zoo & Night Safari / 動物園と夜間動物園

Last Thursday (07/01/10), I took half a day off work (leave) to visit the Zoo and Night safari with my friend ゆ. She came here in Jul 2008 and now she has decided to go back to Tokyo. “Nevertheless Tokyo is still the most convenient city in the world.” She always says so. She had visited many sightseeing spots in Singapore, but she had never been to the zoo yet. As I would like to add a beautiful full stop to her Singapore story, I booked a corporate zoo ticket from my company and off we went to visit our feather and fur friends there.
Singapore zoo is quite unique in the world as it was built in the jungle. So instead of putting the animals in the cages like other zoos in the world, they are separated by natural bushes and trenches. It made the whole thing like as if they are still in the wild. Besides, the vegetations are lavish and flowers are booming all year around. The animal shows and cultural shows are also very interesting. There’s big food centre there as well which looks quite fancy. Night safari was a bit expensive. The ticket is S$32/pax. With the OCBC platinum card, we enjoyed 10% discount, but still we paid S$29.8/pax. (price including S$10 for the tram) It was a different feeling from last time I went. Last time, I saw some animals walking around us. This time they were all quite a distance away. It was not as interesting as before, but I was glad that ゆ liked it very much.

上个星期四（07/01/10），我请了半天假跟朋友ゆ一起去了动物园和夜间动物园。ゆ2008年来新加坡工作，现在决定要回东京了。“怎么说来，东京还是世界上最方便的城市。”她总是这么说。她新加坡几乎走遍了，只是还没去过动物园，为了给她的新加坡回忆有一个圆满的结束，我在公司订了动物园的票，一起去拜访可爱的动物朋友们。
跟世界上其他的动物园比起来，新加坡动物园有着其鲜明的特色，因为它是一座建在原始丛林里的动物园，所以动物们是以矮树丛和壕沟相隔开，而不是像其他的动物园那样，动物是关在笼子里的；再加上这里丛林茂密，鲜花盛开，感觉人，动物和自然早已融为了一体，浓浓地化不开。这里的动物表演也很有趣，还有一个十分别致的熟食中心。夜间动物园的门票较贵，每人S$32块，即使是OCBC白金卡持有者也只有10%的折扣，每人S$29.8块。（包括S$10块的游览车钱）这次的感觉与前几次有所不同，以前可以看到很多动物像羚羊之类的在路上悠闲地走来走去，这次则都是远远的，似乎不如上几次的有趣，但ゆ说她很喜欢。
